Sweet and grounding, burdock root is a wonderful all purpose alterative. An alterative in herbalism is a plant that helps open up the channels of elimination in the body.
 
This is a great herbal ally for those with expressive skin. We see this internally as a reflection of the state of the liver, lymph, blood and digestion.
 
Burdock root deeply nourishes with also removing excess metabolic waste and toxins from the body. More of a neutral root, burdock can be helpful for those with patterns of excessive heat and excessive cold; and is not excessively moistening or drying either.
 
Burdock root had an affinity for the liver/gallbladder, bowels, extracellular fluids, blood, lymphatic, kidneys and skin.
